The scientific background of our location is one of a kind: within a radius of less than five km/three miles, there are research facilities known all over the world, run by all kinds of institutions such as:

What is special is that these institutions are not only physically near the BioInnovationsZentrum, they have already taken up a position as part of the BioInnovationsZentrumDresden in the form of co-operation on various projects.
One of the location's great strengths is the fact that its scientific work focuses on molecular bio-engineering. This clearly-defined profile is based on a long tradition of engineering science here, as well as the rapid development of life sciences.
